Polish delicatessen & café

A little taste of Poland, right here in Denmark

Polish cakes, real Polish soups, cured meats and pantry staples from home — served the way babunia would serve them. Two shops, one warm welcome.

Our story

Named after every Polish grandmother

Babunia — Polish for "grandma" — started as a small café and grocery corner for Polish families living in Denmark. Word travelled fast, and today just as many Danish neighbours stop by for the cheesecake and the soup of the day.

We keep the shelves stocked the way a Polish pantry should be: cured sausages, pickles, chocolates, breads and sweets brought over from Poland, alongside cakes imported from Poland too.

Pantry, Dairy & Groceries

Our shelves stock pierogi, dairy, herring, cured meats, pickled vegetables, fresh produce, fresh bread, sweets, snacks and drinks. In spring and summer, we also carry a selection of Polish vegetables, prized for their distinctive traditional flavour.

Coffee & a seat

Both shops double as a café — grab a seat with a freshly brewed coffee and a slice of cake.

Holiday traditions

Every Polish holiday has its own unique flavour. That's why, ahead of Christmas, Easter and other celebrations, we prepare a rich selection of traditional products that have graced Polish tables for generations. This way, you can enjoy familiar, homely flavours and keep Polish traditions alive — even far from Poland.
